The Painting of Gwen John 

This investigation was not our normal type of investigation Spectre Solutions. We where instructed by the owner of a painting to conduct a morphological comparison of a painting by a famous artist Augustus John that it was alleged to be of his sister Gwen John.

Normally as a Facial Mapping Expert we would be comparing photographic imagery for comparable detail however, this matter seen us compare a 'painting'.

The instruction was to assist in determining comparable features of the facial features of Gwen John with the artist's representation of said features.

​

This was a difficult comparison as it was of one single perspective however, the face of Gwen John had some notable distinguishing features that the artist had used  notably in the painting.

This really opened our eyes to the possibilities of morphological comparison for historical investigations.
